How to Read a Shilajit Laboratory Report

A laboratory report is a technical document. Understanding the terms on the page helps you evaluate evidence without treating every number as a marketing slogan — or inventing conclusions the report does not state.

Read the method language before interpreting numbers

A laboratory detecting a substance is not the same thing as an automatic conclusion about product safety. Equally, a value below LOQ is not a marketing “zero” claim by itself.
  • RESULTThe value reported for an analyte under the stated laboratory method.
  • UNITThe measurement scale for the result (for example mg/kg). Units must match before any comparison.
  • LOQ / LIMIT OF QUANTIFICATIONThe lowest concentration the method can reliably quantify. It is a method limit, not automatically the amount detected.
  • REPORTING LIMITRelated method language for what the laboratory will report. Always read the specific report’s stated limits rather than assuming a universal cut-off.
  • SAMPLE ID / BATCH / LOTIdentifies which material was tested. Match packaging batch/lot numbers to the report before drawing product conclusions.
  • REPORT DATE & LABORATORYWhen the report was issued and which laboratory performed the work — essential context for the evidence.
  • REFERENCE LIMIT / PASS-FAILOnly meaningful where the report actually prints an acceptance limit or pass/fail column. Do not invent one if the source does not include it.

Why units matter

The same numeral means different things in different units. Essencraft’s currently published resin heavy-metal table uses mg/kg with an LOQ of 0.01 for the listed analytes. Changing units without converting the numbers produces incorrect comparisons.

Why batches matter

A report describes the sample and lot that were tested. Your packaging batch/lot number is how you check whether a published report applies to the jar or bottle you have.

Why the product name / sample matters

Evidence should stay attached to the product and sample named on the report. A resin sample report is not automatically finished-capsule proof, and the reverse is also true.

Why a screenshot is less useful than a readable report

Cropped images often omit method, LOQ, sample identity, or date. Prefer the full readable report (or a preview of the actual first page plus the full PDF) so units, limits and identifiers stay visible.

Clarifications

Is LOQ the amount in the product?

No. LOQ describes the method’s quantitation limit. A result shown as “< LOQ” means the analyte was below that limit under the stated method.

Does a detectable value automatically mean the product is unsafe?

No. Detection or quantification under a laboratory method is not, by itself, a safety conclusion. This page does not invent toxicological thresholds.
